Insulin Resistance Support
Understanding what’s happening beneath the surface.
Insulin resistance can develop gradually, often before there is anything obviously wrong with your blood sugar results. It happens when your body's cells become less responsive to insulin, meaning your body has to work harder to keep blood glucose within a healthy range.
You may notice things such as struggling to manage your weight, particularly around your middle, feeling hungry again soon after eating, cravings, low energy or energy crashes. Or you may have been told by a healthcare professional that you have insulin resistance or another condition associated with it.
Insulin resistance is also linked with a number of metabolic health conditions, including prediabetes, Type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
The good news is that insulin sensitivity isn't fixed. Nutrition, movement, muscle mass, sleep, stress and other everyday habits can all influence how effectively your body responds to insulin.
What we’ll work on together
• Understanding insulin resistance and what may be influencing it for you.
• Building meals that support blood sugar regulation without unnecessarily restricting foods or carbohydrates.
• Looking at hunger, cravings and energy levels and understanding what may be driving them.
• Supporting weight loss or weight management where this is one of your goals.
• Improving insulin sensitivity through movement and building or maintaining muscle.
• Looking at sleep, stress and daily habits that can influence metabolic health.
• Creating realistic changes that you can actually maintain in everyday life
My approach
My role isn't to give you another set of food rules. It's to help you understand what's happening in your body and why the changes we're making matter.
We'll look at the bigger picture and work out what is realistic for you, rather than trying to overhaul everything at once. The aim is to improve your metabolic health while creating habits that still work when life is busy, plans change or things aren't perfect.
